Can you put yourself in another person’s shoes? In Perspectives on Hangin’ Out, we fuse the foundational skill of perspective-taking with the mitzvah of hachnasat orchim (being a good host) to create a truly innovative learning experience! Using the guest-host relationship as a template, children participate in an exciting variety of activities that deepen their ability to empathize and to collaborate with others to solve problems.
Too Hot. Too Cold. Just Right! Have you ever put yourselves in Goldilocks’s shoes? Your child will take the stage in an animated improv show as they’re challenged to try on another person’s perspective.
Recipe for Friendship. Chocolate or vanilla? Sprinkles or nuts? Your child collaborates with their fellow Top Chefs to choose a recipe and together create a culinary confection. Same old ingredients with a whole new twist — the kids are in charge of the kitchen!
Surprise! Grow is throwing a surprise party to celebrate workers in our community! The biggest part of the surprise? The children are the party planners! They’ll be exposed to the fun of community service as they plan and organize one spectacular celebration.
Engineering Teamwork. Grow goes global with its Worldwide Jewish Lego Invention Contest! The Legos are just one part of the challenge — the real challenge is to work together with a group of friends who have different opinions while the heat of competition is on!
The Great Jewish Fair. The Great Jewish Fair is here, and part of the fun is sharing good times with a friend! Each child will turn their hospitality skills into social action as they host a new friend at this exciting event.
Awards Ceremony. Your child cordially invites you to celebrate the end of a sensational session! As their esteemed guest, your child will treat you to an amazing time honoring the growth they’ve achieved over the past six weeks. We can’t wait to grow more with you during our next session!
Hands-on cooking activities, engaging games and challenges, and meaningful child-led discussions will transform your child’s relationship with wholesome food and provide a practical foundation for making healthy choices to last a lifetime.
